Did you know how much MP's earn per month???
The Economic Freedom Fighters‚ which has 25 MPs‚ expects a generous donation from their salaries to help fill the coffers of the recently established opposition party.
And expense claims are not welcomed.
“We contribute 15% to EFF‚” EFF national spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi said on Thursday. “Thereafter‚ it is individuals’ choices‚ by and large. It means all other work we do for EFF is not paid for by EFF. If an EFF MP gets deployed anywhere‚ they take care of their stay wherever they get sent‚” he added.
The question then arose from the public: How much do our MPs earn?
Julius Malema as EFF leader earns R101‚885 a month while leader of the opposition Mmusi Maimane from the Democratic Alliance earns R124‚516 a month. An average member of parliament earns R86‚120‚ according to data issued by Africa Check.
DA chief whip John Steenhuisen said his party also expects its MPs to help with funding.
“Each public representative pays a compulsory contribution to the party every month. This equates to roughly 2% of the salary but differs from province to province‚” Steenhuisen said.
The highest earners in parliament are from the ruling African National Congress. Baleka Mbete and Thandi Modise as Speakers in the two houses of parliament earn R226‚400 a month‚ Cabinet ministers earn R192‚439 a month and Deputy Cabinet ministers net R158‚477 a month.
ANC spokesman in parliament Moloto Mothapo said all 249 MPs make regular party contributions to Luthuli House.
While he declined to specify how much‚ Mothapo said: “The only deduction the organisation makes from ANC MPs’ income is a percentage for party support‚ which varies according to the level of income. As you know‚ the ANC is a non-profit making organisation and survives on members’ goodwill and annual membership contributions.”

STEPHEN KESHI DIES AGED 54
It's huge blow to the African continent, after it was announced this morning that another one of the greatest coach is no longer with us.

Africa is in mourning after waking up to the news that the 54-year-old former Nigerian international had suffered a cardiac arrest in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The experienced coach was recently linked with a move to the Bucs, with the Soweto giants’ boss paying tribute to the departed mentor.
“It's a great loss,” Khoza told EWN Sport. “He made history as one of the few men to represent his country at AFCON and the World Cup.
“He brought a lot of confidence and motivation to players and coaches looking to make their mark.”
Khoza then spoke of his side’s link with Keshi, revealing that there was at one stage a “70% chance” he would come and coach in the PSL.
"There was a possibility before he joined the Nigerian national team,” he said.
“It's regrettable because at some time we were expecting him to be a coach in South Africa.
“It would've been nice to have a player and coach of his calibre at Pirates.
“At the time when he came from Togo, there was about a 70% that he would come to South Africa.
“There are a lot of Nigerian supporters in South Africa. This time around there were no discussions opened.”

Cr7 pleads for Real retirement

Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed he wants to retire at Real Madrid amid rumours Paris Saint-Germain are interested in acquiring his services.
Ronaldo became the most expensive player in the world when he moved to Los Blancos from Manchester United for £80 million in 2009, a record which Real themselves broke with the signing of Gareth Bale three years later.
The Portugal international has won eight major trophies in seven years at the Santiago Bernabeu, including two Champions League crowns, but rumours of a potential big-money move to French champions PSG have repeatedly surfaced over the last six months.
However, Ronaldo categorically stated he has no plans to leave Madrid and wants to continue playing for the Spanish giants until he hangs up his boots.
"I am going to retire at Real Madrid when I'm older than 40," the 31-year-old told AS. "I am very happy here and will work hard to achieve that."
Ronaldo admitted he was delighted to score the winning penalty in the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid, but insists his attention has already turned to helping Portugal lift the European Championship trophy in France later this month.
"I am super happy to have won 'la Undecima' and now I'm already thinking about the Euro," he added. "We want to give a great joy to Portugal by winning it, which is something the Portuguese people deserve."

Komphela part of Chiefs massive clear out decision
Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela and his technical team were inclusive in the decision-making process that has led to 20 players being shown the door by the club in an apparent large-scale rebuilding process of Amakhosi’s squad.
Chiefs communications manager Vina Maphosa said he could not comment on the individual technical aspects of the players who have been released from contracts, or whose contracts will not be renewed, which will be addressed at a press conference at the end of June.
Maphosa did confirm that Komphela was instrumental in the process of arriving at the names of players to be culled at Chiefs, whose need to rebuild their squad was patently clear in a season where they ended trophy-less and in fifth position in the PSL.
The Chiefs’ communications manager also confirmed that right-back Siboniso Gaxa is among the players who will be leaving Amakhosi.
There has been confusion over Gaxa’s name being on the list of four players whose contracts have not been renewed. In October Chiefs tweeted that Gaxa had renewed his contract until 2018.
“The contractual issues at this stage – the direct answer is that it’s between the club and the player,” Maphosa said.
“As soon as there is word coming from the club on that [Gaxa’s contract issue], we will inform the media. What we are confirming is that as far as Pa Gaxa is concerned he is on the list of players who have been released by the club."
