Nyasa – Police in Malawi have arrested three suspects in Phalombe district following the brutal murder of a 28-year-old woman.
According to Nyasa Times, Jennifer Namusiyo was savagely attacked on Saturday morning while on her way to seek medication from a traditional healer. She also had her breasts chopped off.
The three suspects included her husband, James Namusiyo, Piason Damson and Mabvuto Mukohowa.
"Her eyes had been deflated and both her breasts removed, probably by a sharp object. Her bicycle lay close to her body," police were reported as saying.
The motive behind the attack was yet to be established.
The report came a few days after a murder suspect was killed by a mob in Chikwawa district after he allegedly killed a woman and ate part of her flesh.
A report said that the gruesome murder was discovered after the suspect had chopped off the victiim’s head and disemboweled her, before eating her intestines and parts of her skin.
